Hi, I'm Aparna :)
I'm a software engineer, amateur food reviewer, runner (I'm terrible at this), and yogi, among other things.
I've admittedly maintained several blogs over the years. All themed. And all eventually abandoned. But my desire to share my thoughts is relentless. And I started abuse Beli's long text boxes to share my musings with friends. And Beli, while a great storage mechanism, has a terrible access time. So, at the behest of several of my good friends, I have decided to start blogging again. :)
What this is
This is a personal blog! I'm calling it And I Digress because I tend to write the way I speak. This means that I'll often start talking about one thing and end up somewhere else entirely different.
Here, you'll find posts about:
- Books I'm reading (slowly)
- Places I've been (not enough of them)
- Food I've cooked (some disasters, some triumphs)
- Things I'm thinking about (constantly)
- Whatever else catches my attention on a given day
What this isn't
A brand, a strategy, or a content calendar. I'm not trying to build an audience. I'm trying to maintain a place to be curious and a little loose with language, which is its own kind of pleasure.
A note on quality
I will not always be eloquent. Sometimes my thoughts will be half-baked. I'll probably contradict myself across posts with some time. And I'm okay with that! In fact, it's kind of the point.
So, welcome! Pull up a chair.
I'll probably digress ;)
